Independence Day Parade

For many years Pack 197 joins Westerville Independence Day Parade to celebrate our country’s birthday. Organizers (Rotary Club of Westerville) expect about 10,000 people to watch the parade, roughly a quarter of the population of Westerville.

A group of parents had built an enormous pinewood derby car float. It is outfitted with soap bubble making machines and tray for giveaway candy.
Scouts had a great time parading down State Street!

2017 Event

In 2017 float was expanded to include a huge 15 foot pinewood derby ramp with the 4 x 8 foot car on top. For safety reasons, no-one is allowed to ride on the float.
