Scout Sunday – February 10th
Category : News
All,
Pack Chaplain, Bennett Thayer here. I wanted to take a moment to mention a cool way to show your scouting colors this winter. Scout Sunday.
What is Scout Sunday? Scout Sunday is the primary date to recognize the contributions of young people and adults to Scouting. Typically, Scout Sunday is the Sunday before, or near, the BSA’s anniversary which is February 8th.
When is Scout Sunday? The Official BSA calendar lists February 10th, as Scout Sunday 2019
How do we celebrate? Scouts can wear their uniforms to participate in church ceremonies. Our sponsor church (Heritage) would welcome your participation, but feel free to celebrate with your family at your home organizations. Simply wear your uniform. Or, if you are feeling BRAVE, volunteer to lead a prayer, recognize former scouts, usher, etc.
Who can celebrate? ANYONE! The BSA is nonsectarian in its attitude toward religious training. Anyone is welcome to participate.
Yours In Scouting,
Bennett
